Wildlife Videography- A Challenging Task!
It is easy to capture the videos of tamed animals, pet animals, or the animals in zoo, but it’s rather risky and difficult to video wild animals. Wildlife videography is a challenge because wild animals don’t always cooperate with you. Your patience, determination, and environmental factors play key role in wildlife videography.
Wildlife video must have special impact, a strong environmental message and should be consistent with a motion. Wildlife videography is a serious business. Direction of light puts much effect on wildlife videography, and normally videographers ignore this fact. Use light from different directions and make your subject look unique.
Proper arrangement of sunlight and shade gives amazing impact in videos. When the sunlight falls on your subject, and the rest of the scene is in shade, focus on subject and you can capture gorgeous views. Use Flash when light is not adequate or there is too much contrast. Flash can light up your subject and it will surely bring out the color of your subject on a cloudy day.
To get excellent wildlife videos, capture animal behavior that is perhaps the most obvious and often the easiest method of taking videos. Don’t do anything that threatens the animal. Learn to walk and move quietly and practice freezing your position so that they do not feel your presence. Perfect wildlife videography should show the specialty of subject. Balance the image and grab the viewer’s attention to the subject.
